I am a licensed DC tour guide who has lived in the Washington Metropolitan Area for my entire life. I am a retired teacher and high school guidance counselor of 32 years, from the Montgomery County Public School system in Maryland, just outside of the city. I graduated from American University in Washington DC with a BA in early childhood and elementary education and I hold an MA in school counseling and psychology. I have taught at all levels of the educational spectrum: elementary, middle, high school, and community college. I hold an advanced teaching professional certificate in the state of Maryland, and my areas of certification include school administration and supervision, guidance and counseling, elementary education, and secondary psychology. I have coached both summer league swimming and high school wrestling.
Now in "semi retirement" I find that leading tours in DC is the most ideal teaching job of all: fun with the class in the most magnificent “classroom” in the world … and no papers to grade!
Since retiring from the school system, I have enjoyed immensely my time leading tours of Washington DC. Developing and offering my own personal tours is my dream come true, affording me the opportunity to personalize my own tours, in an effort to provide each of my guests a complete and uniquely distinctive touring experience.
DC is truly a city you won’t want to miss fully experiencing: Its worldwide political power coupled with its intriguing history and of course, its breathtaking monuments and memorials make it a top destination for some 21 million visitors annually. I seek to demystify US History, making it clear, understandable, moving, fun, and memorable!
I am now in my 12th year operating my own one-man company. I would be honored if you considered me to lead you on a private walking tour.

“I want everyone visiting this city to love it as much as I do; that's why giving tours of DC is my passion. My goal is to make you feel like you have a personal friend in DC that happens to be a tour guide. I am constantly aware of the fact that it will be many of my guests' one and only trip to Washington DC, and that it's my job to make your visit meaningful and memorable. I provide a no-hassle, stress-free, completely fun and interactive way to see and learn about what I believe to be the most beautiful and richly interesting city in the world."
